Powder Coating

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Powder Coating Technician to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing metal parts, applying powder coatings, operating coating equipment, and ensuring finished products meet quality standards. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare parts and surfaces for powder coating through cleaning, sanding, masking, and pretreatment processes.
• Operate powder coating equipment, spray guns, and curing ovens.
• Apply powder coatings according to specifications and quality standards.
• Inspect coated parts for proper coverage, finish quality, and defects.
• Monitor coating thickness and ensure products meet customer requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of coating equipment.
• Follow all safety procedures, environmental regulations, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate production records and quality documentation.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials throughout the facility.
• Work collaboratively with production, quality, and maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous powder coating, painting, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read work orders and follow written instructions.
• Experience using hand tools, measuring devices, and inspection equipment is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of shop safety practices and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with metal fabrication or industrial painting.
• Knowledge of powder coating systems and curing processes.
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to identify coating defects and make process adjustments.
